The Conference Chairs warmly welcome scholars from around the world to join HERA 2026. The conference provides a forum for exchanging ideas and engaging in dialogue on Asian higher education in a changing global context.
We invite researchers, policymakers, and practitioners to share their work, reflect on emerging challenges, and explore new perspectives across diverse institutional and national settings. Through open and constructive discussion, HERA 2026 aims to foster meaningful scholarly exchange and advance understanding of higher education in Asia and beyond.

Conference Chairs
Wenqin Shen （沈文钦）
Associate Professor at Peking University. His research focuses on higher education theory and policy, the sociology of higher education, and the history of higher education.
Fengqiao Yan （阎凤桥）
Professor at Peking University. His main research areas include higher education management, educational organizations and institutions, private higher education, and the academic profession.
Kai Jiang （蒋凯）
Professor at Peking University. His research fields include principles of higher education, comparative higher education, and general educational theory.
Yanzhen Zhu （朱彦臻）
Assistant Professor at Peking University. Her research interests include foundational theories of higher education, international and comparative higher education, and the relationship between education and culture.
Wen Wen （文雯）
Professor at Tsinghua University. Her research interests include foundational theories of higher education, educational sociology, institutional research, student learning and development, and the internationalization of higher education.
Fei Guo （郭菲）
Associate Professor at Tsinghua University. Her research focuses on college student learning and development, higher education evaluation, and equity in higher education.
Program Chairs
The Program Chair positions for HERA 2026 are currently open. We welcome expressions of interest from scholars with experience in peer review, academic program coordination, or related areas.
Interested candidates, particularly early- and mid-career scholars and those based outside the host institutions, are encouraged to contact the organizing committee.
